The Via Verde Eco village project was a collaboration between Design and Planning Assistance Center at the University of New Mexico, which featured Pre-Professional Architecture students and Landscape Architecture students, and with the residents of Las Vegas, New Mexico. This project was not promised to bear fruit in a literal building of this village but the community of Las Vegas was still enthusiastic to hear of possible additions they could make to their city to revitalize it. We gained feedback from the community through several charrettes and designed the village to best meet their needs and wants while giving them ideas for the future. The project featured common aspects of eco-villages such as community gathering spaces, residential housing, tourist housing, agriculture, water harvesting and reuse, and many more.
My contributions have been instrumental in shaping the overall vision and design of the project. I designed the residential housing of the project and assisted with other design elements throughout the project, including the placement of the different types of buildings.

The project was a great success. The community of Las Vegas loved the designs we established and were excited to bring the designs to their city legislators to start proposing the designs for building in the future. It was a wonderful time hearing their feedback after it was all done. They were impressed with the work we had done.
